In a bid to increase awareness of the health, cost and environmental benefits of tap water, Yarra Valley Water has launched “Choose Tap”, which aims to engage the community on drinking tap water as part of a healthy lifestyle and as a positive alternative to bottled water and sugary drinks. It’s all about choice. We want our customers to be informed about the choices they make. We believe Melbourne’s tap water is amongst the best in the world for quality and taste, as well as being a cheaper option for the community.

Choose Tap has seen the installation of water refill stations in schools, parks and local businesses; as well as partnerships with sporting and hospitality organisations to make tap water more accessible for everyone. In addition, Yarra Valley Water has developed a Choose Tap smartphone app which not only helps users find their nearest drinking water fountain wherever they are in Melbourne, but highlights public toilets and local BBQ facilities as well. With over 500 locations, it’s easy to find tap water when you need it.

Yarra Valley Water provides water supply and sewerage services to over 1.7 million people who live and work in the Yarra River catchment area of Melbourne.
