What are Local Festival Events?

Local Festival events are independent sustainability-focused events, presented by organisations, groups and individuals within their own local communities.

They are a means of engaging more directly with local communities by educating and enthusing the community at large, and accelerating the uptake of sustainable living throughout Australia.

The Festival aims to expand the Sustainable Living Festival by incorporating Local Events into the two-week lead up to the Festival's Main Event at Federation Square, February 6-21, 2010.

Local Events may include, but are not limited to:

  • Forums & Talks
  • Working Bees
  • Skills Workshops
  • Community Gardening
  • Conservation Activities
  • Sustainable House Tours
  • Green Tea Party
  • Film Nights
