Education Day

The Sustainable Living Festival invites school groups from across the State to be part of the Festival's Education Day at Federation Square on Friday 19 February 2010.

The Festival's Education Day provides a fun interactive program for school students from years 4 to 12. Students and their teachers will participate in a series of workshops and talks aimed at inspiring sustainability actions.

Education Day Program Outline

9:00-9:30: Schools check in
9:30-10:20: Opening Ceremony
10:30-11:25: Session 1
11:35-12:30: Session 2
12:30-1:00: Rubbish Free Lunch
1:05-1:50: Session 3

Previous interactive workshops and forums have included 'Ride A Bike' (bike generated power), Circus Sustainable, Cool Cycling to School, Permaculture Adventures, Traditional Indigenous Games, Composting and Worms, Leadership and the Environment, Recyle and Reuse - Sustainable Art, Yoga for Young People and much, much more. Education Day is fully booked every year. You must register your school online by Friday 20th November 2009.To register your school, please complete the online registration form here. You can register for more than one group of students. However, please note that Education Day has limited places and that registration does not guarantee a place. Please note: This event is now full. Successful schools will be notified by the end of November. After this time, schools will be provided with workshop/talk options and the opportunity to submit preferences for their individualised program.
